Ambassadors from various countries gathered at the UN in Geneva to observe a minute of silence for the victims of the ongoing war in Gaza. Over 40 ambassadors, mainly from Muslim countries, signed a joint call urging the international community to take immediate action to end the violence and address the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Ibrahim Khraishi, the Palestinians' permanent observer to the UN in Geneva, said what was taking place was "not a war between Israel and the fighters of Hamas. It is a genocide".
